Needlework Nutshell: Make It Yours!

Kunni's spiral magnets Kunni's spiral magnets

Kunni, from Damascus, MD, used the teaching pattern from the July issue of The Needlework Nutshell for demonstrations at her county fair. She used a variety of materials, including floss on plastic canvas and beads on perforated paper.

In addition to demonstrating how to stitch, Kunni made a game with the models. She had one model on her table and another hidden in plain sight in the needlework display. Kids were shown one model and challenged to find the other in the display. What a way to slow them down and make them really look! Needlework? Fair? Game? There's a stitcher after my own heart!

And what do you do with such models when they've served their purpose? You turn them into magnets and hang them on your fridge, of course. Kudos, Kunni!
