Linda, from Jefferson, SC, replaced French knot stars with double crosses (sometimes called Smyrna crosses, among other things).

She chose a double mat with white on top. I like it! The wide white area gives the impression that the snow goes on and on, beyond the stitched image. I think it conveys the feeling of cold and snow.
