After stitching the bracelet, I overstitched the 3-sided stitch on the border with a single strand of Kreinik #4 very fine braid. I also backstitched around the tracks with size 4 005 black very fine braid. The added sparkle draws attention and accentuates the design.

These two barrettes are identical except for the addition of metallic fibers to the top one. As in the bracelet, I overstitched the edge with a single strand of #4 very fine braid, but I also substituted Kreinik 005 black #4 very fine braid for the toucan's head. Real bird feathers have a sheen to them, and the black imitates that nicely.
