Needlework Nutshell: Window Bookmark Fobs
As discussed in the Needlework Nutshell, we're taking the idea of "window cards," shrinking them, using atlernate materials, and putting them to work as bookmark fobs.

Cut out the oval paper patterns from the PDF file, then cut a back and a window. I used green felt from Weeks Dye Works for the back and pink for the front. Instead of centering the window opening, I offset it to one side.
Next, trim your needlework slightly smaller than the backing and cut a length of ribbon, 14 inches or so.
Glue the ribbon to the backing (the ribbon is what goes into the book to mark the page) then glue the needlework to the backing. Lay the window over the needlework to make sure it is placed properly.
Glue the window to the backing and allow to dry.
If you enjoy making pearl cotton or twisted cord, it can serve as an edging and replace the ribbon to mark your place in books.

It doesn't get much easier than that, does it? A quick, easy, no-sew alternative for finishing a hand-stitched bookmark.
