Moving In

Funk & Weber - Home Sweet WebsiteSqueeeee!

The builders are gone. The movers are gone. It’s just me and a mountain of boxes to unpack. I gulp deep breaths of that fresh intoxicating new-site smell and skip gleefully from page to page, adoring, imagining, planning. Home sweet website!

There’s a peach cobbler in the oven (really!), and it takes but two moments to heat water for tea. Jasmine Blossom, Bengal Spice, Blueberry…come have a look and help yourself. Please, make yourself at home.

Take a tour, you say? Why, I’d love to!

Well, we’re in the blog, as you can see. This is where we’ll hang out with friends, kick back, relax, have fun, and even do a little work from time to time.

Home is the front door and foyer. It’s the pretty way in and out, but feel free to use any of the side or back entrances. As I said, make yourself at home.

Rainbow

Our place at the end of the rainbow.

The Shop, as you would guess, is where we’ll do business. The shelves are a little empty just now, but we’ll add things as we unpack more boxes and create more in the coming days. I expect to finish the project on my floor stand today.

How To is one of my favorite pages. I love the color and the view. This is where we’ll explore, teach, learn, and play. It actually connects to the blog, so I see it as an extension of the fun we have there.

Stores is pretty self-explanatory. I love how it’s set up, though; maps are cool. Again, it’s pretty spare at this point, but we’ll keep adding to it. For the time being, it’s best to select a wide distance from your starting location.

The About and FAQ pages are standard utilitarian spaces, common to sites like this. I don’t think there’s a whole lot more to be done with these, except for minor tweaks as we get comfortable and things find their natural places.

I think the space will serve us well and accommodate continued slow growth. I’m thrilled to death to be here.

How about you? Think you can get comfortable and have some fun around here?

Looks awesome, Jen! I’m very impressed. It’s a lovely, easily navigable site. (I spotted one tiny mistake. When you were describing the various tabs at the top of your new site, you referred to Store for the tab next to Home, when I think you meant Shop.)
